Psoriasis
I love it when illustrators use their skills to speak about the things that are really important to them. Speaking about your chronic diseases isn’t the most pleasant thing in the world, but I believe that it can help to understand each other a little bit better (but please, don’t speak about your disease all the time. Just don’t :)) So this project is all about that.
Sometimes these patches can be VERY itchy. They can also become painful and even bleeding, if you scratch them all the time (and it’s usually almost impossible not to do it).
Stress can trigger flare-ups of psoriasis, and flare-ups of psoriasis can cause even more stress.
If you have scalp psoriasis (like me), going to a hairdresser is a challenge. If you have your body covered with red patches, wearing a swimming suit or any piece of clothing with short sleeves can be a serious challenge, too. Psoriasis affects appearance a lot, and because of that it’s sometimes very hard to push yourself to take part in any social activities.
But it can be controlled by different medications.
You can’t get psoriasis just by touching someone who has it
